excuse my ignorance but shouldnt the serial number on all rics from 1960 onwards have the leters on the top and the numbers on the botem of the jack plate ?

Serial Numbers all models, October 1960 to 1986.

Configuration: AA## or AA###, letters on jackplate above jack hole, numerals below jackhole.

The change came late 1965 early 1966 if I recall correctly...

Stop being paranoid.....it's a 1964 Rickenbacker, case-closed.
