Ive considered getting a Gator GPE-BASS-TSA case for a while. Glad to know that Ricks definitely fit.

I love the deluxe vintage case I got with my Ric, but it is very heavy and I find awkward in transporting around and getting it in and out of the car.
I use Warwick Premium Rockbags on all of my gigging basses, I am totally sold on them, they are so well made and very comfortable to carry, 30mm thick foam padding so it gives full protection, lots of pockets and 2 very comfortable removable shoulder straps. I paid £ 47.00 for mine from Thomann including postage, received within 2 days of placing the order which is pretty good considered they have to be shipped from Germany
Even the brilliant SKB case on my Fender Jazz is lying empty in the closet!
Soft cases all the way mate!

You beat me too it. Totally agree 100%.
Some of the newer ones offer outstanding protection and while I might not check them into a planes cargo hold, for transporting back and forth to a gig they are awesome.

It's a good case - sturdy, and the handle is really chunky and gives you confidence when you pick it up! I've got no issues transporting the 4001 around it at all.
I'm not a great photographer, so a few snaps just now with the iPhone - hope it catches it well enough.
Thanks again to Jeffrey for making it all possible!

Nice--it does look like just about the best you could get with an aftermarket case. I'm glad it worked out for you.

I used a Gator GC Electric case for my 610. It fit fairly well. I did need to massage both sides of the case at the lower bout. Not bad for a cheap Chinese case.
