I've heard there are some that would appreciate that particular situation...

The actual reality is, because Canada does not want people coming to Canada and not being able to return home, the U.S. law takes precedence over Canadian law and they will not let you into Canada without the proper documents to return home...

Smart move on Canada's part.

Yup. Come and visit and enjoy, then go home. That's us. Unless you claim refugee status, then you can stay.

The last thing I posted was

"We should pencil in a date and I will start looking for a venue...

Say January February March of 2013???"

Say around middle of Feb? So we have recovered from Xmas.

Any objections to Hamilton? Less distance for those to travel up from the States....

How big a venue? A Saturday most likely. Start and around 1pm and going how long? Till 7 or 8 pm?

Food and drink on the premises? Or a big dinner somewhere afterwards?

A quiet space to chat and show off instruments- but also the ability to Jam with a backline and PA and make some noise ideally...

How many of us could make it? That will define our space needs

:D :D

Hamilton looks pretty doable for me. I could drop the wife off at Niagara-On-The-Lake first.

Hamilton is ok for me. Can't do Feb though. Moving our company at that time. March would be cool.

Ok.

I now have a date and a location for ORAC 2 (Ontario Rickenbacker Appreciation Conference).

Saturday March 16, 2013 from 12 noon to 7pm.

Location is the Pearl Company Arts Centre http://thepearlcompany.ca/

16 Steven Street Hamilton ON

There will be a PA and back line set up, and a room with tables to sit and look at Rickenbackers.

There will be a PWYC jar - proceeds for the venue - but no actual admission cost. And they will sell coffee and refreshments cheaply.

How does that sound?

I will see if Bill Dillon can make it. :D

I will bring my guitars and a few amps... Anyone else want to join me?

If there is enough interest we could all go for a big meal afterwards... The all you can eat Chinese buffet perhaps? :o
