Actually these fakes are a good catch for RIC, as the guys buying a fake are hooked on the model  , but sooner or later realize that nothing compares to the real thing! Hence it actually can be seen as a promotion campaign for the 4003!

i don't understand why the U.S. Customs and Border Protection don't intercept all these shipments since a fundamental provision of importing is the "Made in China" labeling (or whatever country of origin the goods were sourced from). To have counterfeit TRC's with "Made in U.S.A." is a very flagrant violation. Thousands of companies importing all kinds of products, have been nailed over the years for improper country of origin markings.

See regulations under:
http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?c= ... 28.1.287.1

Since required Customs documents identify the sourcing company, it should be easy to intercept any paperwork filed with Cutoms, that identifies these sourcing companies. And since the majority of imports are pre-cleared with Customs, before the vessel or aircraft arrives, the violators could be nabbed before the offending products are even cleared by Customs.

Yes, in an ideal world.

Budgets are getting cut right and left.

It's no longer possible to even track an international order as it moves through the USPS system from POE to door.

I'll bet CBP is spread just as thin.

I would be curious to see that if someone actually received a product if they actually purchased one.

Well if they have the nerve to stamp Rickenbacker made in USA on the trc, what about the D'Addario strings packet in the photos! They too could be **** strings in faker packaging right. :?
As a certain underground uni/indie band from the UK once proclaimed; "Nothing is real"..................

They went all the trouble to fake the truss rod cover & then forgot to put a screw in the tip end.
