You don't ask for much, eh Jeff?

I don't see mention of a RIHS on jps' idea of a 4004 FL.

The kitchen sink isn't free, is it?

I think someone else already had that idea, somewhere? Besides, I'd want a '60s magnetic HS PU.

Right. No comparison.

That's sad :(

I'm glad I have my 3 RIC fretless bassses (2 with me, one back east). I've owned a Fender Fretless Precision, and currently have the Fender Jaco Fretless, and I can say without a doubt that all 3 of my fretless RICS are superior in terms of playability to either Fender model, which is what it's all about. Also, with tapewound strings (GHS), they sound as close to an upright as I can get, which is perfect for jazz, which has been my main emphasis for over 35 years. :)

Similar to what Jeff said, I'd like side dots at the; 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 15, 17, 19 and 21st positions, exactly where the frets would have been. The dots being where they are on the front of the fingerboard is pure fretless RIC vibe, so I'd want them also. I'll stick with the Caribbean Rosewood fingerboard. I think they look great. Make mine a 4004CiiFLJV please! :)
