The benefit of music is its limitlessness.

Just one wish: playing new music does not mean You should behave younger than You are (and not older, too!). That would be just awkward in both cases.

But imagine an "old" person doing a young person's song, putting in all experience of life!
An example: When U2 recorded "One" Bono was only sweet 29 years old. Listen to it and then listen to Johnny Cash's version when he was close to his death. Cash's version is miles above in credibility and soul.

- An extreme example but surely illustrating it very well.

Would this image be a good representation of a contraction of Spanish Rock?

This is it: play what you love; good music (music that inspires you and moves you) is indeed timeless; anything else is just pretense.
Thanks, Kira! :D

The problem with that is there are very few new popular songs I like.

There are 4 other members of the band who may find new popular songs they like.

Well, that's really just a problem of exposure; you just don't like what you've heard. I tend to be in the same boat (if we're talking about the average number of "new" songs which I have heard that I enjoy compared to "old" songs) but that doesn't mean there isn't good "new" music out there, and the more I seek it out the more I find "new" stuff that seems worthwhile. Besides, the fact that there are "very few new" songs you like just makes those songs that much more special, and thus more worthy of your attention. :)
