Looks like the contact was between the mic clip and the nut. Very glad it didn't actually strike the headstock.

What year is the 4001 MG???? '68 maybe?? I LOVE the sound you got out of it!!! Were you playing mainly through the Bridge pup??

Thanks, Greg! Yep, a '68 exactly! Both pickups were full-on, and they're a great balance output-wise - I'd say close enough to 50-50 to my ear. The horsey got a little weak a few years ago, but a recharge solved that.
Yeah - it would be interesting to know if Squire sees this. I hope so, too. I posted it on both his FB page and the Yes FB page.

Mark, I'm kinda curious too, but some of my local pals that I shared this with had a good question concerning the sound. Which is, by the way, THE sound...
It's so very close to early Chris that it's scary. Could you share what the amplification, or the signal chain, is? Aside from the bass itself, and your touch and technique, which are huge factors, we'd love to have an idea of how you get so close to "the sound"... If you don't want to share, that's understandable too!
