Phew! It's comforting to hear that sub-standard instruments are NOT leaving the factory, regardless of cost or circumstances. With on-line purchases the norm these days, it s all too easy to be ripped off. I too am pleased there may be an investigation.
I have a luthier friend here in Perth who also builds world renowned guitars. I have seen him put one of his finished bodies through a band saw as it wasn't up to standard. He'd rather it be used for firewood than be associated with his brand/name.
Thanks for your responses, I feel more comforted now.

Where are you located Alex? If you're in Sydney, I'd recommend
Frank Grubisa - he is brilliant.

That is the only guy I would trust in Perth. I still need to find the time to drop three of my Ricks for a fret dressing over his place.

Hi Terry.
Welcome to the forum.
I see you are in Margaret River. This is a lovely place that reminds me my homeplace in Québec.
I am over there for the weekend in a VERY nice holyday home to forget about the job and enjoy the vineyards!

Hey Jeff,
If Perry's busy(as he usually is) and you get stuck, give me a shout. I'd be happy to help out.
Cheers, Pete

Is he still located around Fremantle or did he moved more in your neck of the wood?

Hi George
I'd recommend you speak with Shelley Cleave at Rosetti, as through past experience I've found her to be absolutely brilliant at understanding how customers need to be treated (she managed to locate for me their last black Rick tailpiece with the additional two anchor screws, which I needed for my 4008, and which had lain unrecorded on a dusty shelf at Rosetti for ten years!). She could not have been more helpful. If she's not around, the manager's name is Christine (also good, surname unknown).

Hi Jeff,
Yes it's great here in Margs, especially today. Not a cloud in the sky! Are you here this weekend? I'm in the wine business myself.
Pete is a good man - and does nice work on Rics. He was the only one to be able to fix some issues I had with mine a while back.
By the way, yes Perry has moved to the northern suburbs somewhere I think.
Cheers,
Terry
