Very nice job on the paint! Great attention to detail on the spray pattern, and it's a nice dark hue - I wish mine had come out a tad darker.

Outstanding! That is a lot of work, and I'm sure a fair amount of apprehension was present once you decided to tackle the actual instrument. It's certainly more than I'd want to do.
You can proud of that one.

Geir, great job! Especially liked the fact that you FIRST got your information, THEN practiced, and then moved to the actual bass.
If you are able to leave the bass out on a stand or hanger, over time, UV exposure will cause a mellowing of the finish. NOTE; It doesn't need to be and shouldn't be direct sun exposure.
What type of finish did you use?

I used Glasurit 2K automotive clear. I don’t expect it to amber much. It ok though, it looks great as it is.

I realized that I never put up photos of the bass after putting the hardware back on.

The need to level the fretboard was what started it, a little hump around the 4th-5th fret, but led me into a complete refinish. It also seemd to have a dump (? is that the correct word for the opposite of a hump/bump ?) down the neck around the 12th fret. The bridge needed to be completely down, and then grinded off some to get it further down.

Back then, when I started leveling the board, I measured the thickness on the side of the fretboard. What I discovered then was the board had uniform thickness from the bottom of the neck to somewhere around the 14the-12th fret. From the 12th fret it grew in thickness up to the top of the neck (I don’t remember exactly but the board was 1.5-2.0 mm thicker at the top). Shaved off quite a bit on top of the board to get it level all the way down the neck.

Did take some time before I could put the TRC back on as I spent quite some time levelling the frets. Frets can be very nice and level with strings off, but with tension from the strings the neck and fretboard obviously reacts differently. Took some time to get the frets levelled to a degree where I can have set the fretboard completely flat without getting any string buzz.

Now the fretboard is level from top to bottom. Put in a new un-grinded bridge, and now has to raise the bridge quite a bit. Took a looong time and lots of effort doing this myself, but turned good in the end. It plays wonderfully, sounds great - and it doesn’t look so bad either.

Took some sunshine shots, but it’s hard to get good shots in direct sunshine. Well, not that bad but it looks better in indoor shots:
