+1! I liked the 4003, but this is super sweet and I general don't care for solid colors.

I have always wanted a white Rick; I am happy I put it off as this one is just what the doctor ordered! Amazing what a simple color change does for how we perceive things.

+1.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the snowglo 4003, but the binding being a different shade of white wasn't my preference.

That 4004L is stunning!

Does that mean you will be selling the Ruby?

Ahh, sorry. You mean 4005-style guard, like the 4003S prototype in the Smith book p.205?

No, not selling Ruby, just adding a great looking sibling to leave roundwound strings on as Ruby has TI flats on it.

That would be the idea, yes. But at the moment it is just that, an idea, I want to live with the bass for a while and see if it sticks.

Congrats,Jeff! It IS stunning! I do like the idea of a GOLD back-painted teardrop or 4005-style pg.(and matching trc, natch!)
As much as i like the overall simplicity of the 4004 series with see-through finishes, the solid/painted ones seem like they need just a bit of ....something else.
