4003 S-curve neck?

I did some bending exercises. I suspended the neck on a wood block with two smaller smaller pieces of wood. A clamp provided the bending power. Heating was provided by a 500W halogen work light. I tried to move the light around but it was pretty difficult to get an even heat coverage. I did this for few hours. No significant effect. I am probably too cautious with heating but I do not want ruin the neck. What would be the max temperature the neck can stand?

My old 4002 had a nasty S curve in it when I got it. Chris at Pick of the Ricks in NJ fixed it. IIRC a string change was involved, perhaps other steps, but I'm not sure.

Just a little update. I took the bass to a local luthier. He has proper heat pressing equipment and was quite hopeful that he can save the neck.
