I am a huge Mapleglo fan and that has to be about as good of a MG score as there can be....love it!

Thank you for your words of praise, gentlemen, I truly appreciate them! 8)

Actually the 21 fretter at issue came with a small number of not-too-serious issues, all of which have been successfully and swiftly addressed. Not by yours truly however.

Namely: the fingerboard was starting to separate from the neck at the nut; the nut itself was loose; the action was too high and couldn't be lowered as someone had fitted a bunch of washers over the two screws holding the treble pickup to its baseplate, thereby rendering downward movement of the whole assembly impossible; the intonation was out and couldn't be set right as the bridge/tailpiece assembly was at the wrong location - way too near the body edge; and, the A tuner was about to come apart. :x

Now that every single one of those problems is history, the bass plays like a dream: ultra-low action, dead straight neck, killer tone (although I certainly could use a little more output from BOTH pickups), and great looks!

It sports a treble pickup surround with pointed, not rounded corners. What's the story with that? I vaguely remember reading something on the subject elsewhere many years back.

Thank you kindly, Joey! This one's a looker, a player, and a keeper for sure. 8)
