Rickenroller wrote:...built-in tape echo on it. It was old and worn out, and the erase heads wouldn't completely erase the old echoes. That's the weird sound in the background of "Dash 7". We just recorded the amp, with nobody playing through it. It's just the "ghosts" of all the old repeats of the tape delay...

What a cool concept, really. Now I have hear it, thanks.

The venue in the video is Shank Hall, correct?

I thought I saw a tiny "stonehenge". I haven't been to Milwaukee in a few years but have always enjoyed playing there. Sounds Great!

Welcome, Brian!
My son Daniel has a much-worn disc with Radar Gun on it that he plays over and over. He can't get enough of that lead guitar. Great tone and playing!

Thanks! "Radar Gun" was a Telecaster straight into a 50 watt Marshall. No pedals, no nuthin'. Well, a cable to connect the two...

Welcome, Brain. I enjoyed the Shank Hall show as well. Did you shoot that footage, Ellen? Thanks for posting it, either way.

Welcome Brian! I herd you guys umpteen years ago on World Cafe (NPR) and have loved your band even since. I remember a great night on New Year's Eve in Bali where we brought in the New Year listening to Gravity Fails and having a toast and a few smooches. Great night and great music from you guys. Keep it up!!!! (I live in the Pacific now but I'm an old Midwest boy from Omaha).

I hadnt revisited this thread since before your comment Brian.
Well, you will be proud of me that I cut the solo on my Ric 360 12.
Lead guitar is not my best role, but I think I did ok with the solo in my cover of your Gravity Fails.
I would be honored if you wanted to give it a listen. I just did a bit of a re-mix that I think sounds pretty good.
Do you ever get down the Florida to gig? Would love to see you guys live

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the link. It's not an easy song to cover and capture the energy. You did well. The use of the 12-string for the lead gives it a bit of a RIC twang.

I am a hobbyist, so go easy on me, but I think this shows off the Ric 12 as both a cool rhythm guitar and lead.
