even Fender reissued the coronado, starcaster and bass VI... and make some other cool stuff that people actually wants. (telecaster bass anyone?) and some even with reasonable price.
Gibson also reissued some nice basses from the past. or resembles, updated models, like the midtown.
even Guild -

and lot other companies.
today there are more chances that a reissue of an older model will get more successes, because there are far more players than in the 60's and 70's and there are far more demand for old models, vintage and past stuff. and there is bigger potential market for more instruments. especially vintage. old guitars are in the fashion in this era.
hope Rickenbacker will get smarter once..

Tomer - the new Fender semi-hollowbodies, the Guilds, CT and "Ignition" Höfners, Hagstrom, Framus hollowbodies, none are made in the US. Rickenbacker has always been a MIA brand. I don't think that's going to change soon, or ever.

ye. i know that... if they want to make 4005 in USA its also fine and there will be demand. i'm sure.
but they probably prefer to be like that old guy diner that sells the exact same burger or steak and fries since civil war.
not my problem. just my 2 cents..

And then, Rickenbacker is actually a TINY company, only something like 60 people work there. So, adding a reissue model that's only going to sell a few (or even a few hundred) will cut into the "bread and butter" model production.
Last I heard, they still have a bit of a backlog, more orders than they can produce at full capacity even with the CNC machining. So, adding small run reissue models doesn't really make a lot of sense, no matter how much us consumers would like to see them...

Seems to work just fine as their matzo balls & kugel, er, burgers & fries are very much in demand and the hunger has not been satisfied..

Teddy was the "mascot" at the photo lab where Jeff used to work. Don't know if Teddy is still prowling the halls somewhere, but he was huge and fluffy!

120 lbs. of Long Haired German Shepherd. I haven't seen Teddy since the lab closed; he is going to be 11 in May.

To keep this on topic, yes, Teddy has seen and sniffed my old 4005WB.

To keep this on topic, Teddy is Autumnglo.

Technically, he's autumnglo with BT
On the assumption that he's generally calm, composed and doesn't worry much, you could also say he's FL!

Teddy is very gentle as you ca see Jason was feeling very relaxed near him.

Actually, he was bred for temperament so is quite mellow but he can play the part of what he looks like when necessary.

If they can't keep up, and the demand is there, then surely (?) there must be an argument for expanding.
More US jobs, more sales, more product to meet the demand. I appreciate that this is an over simplification, but the economic basics appear to be there..
As I mentioned before, there is/was market enough for various high-end/high cost/high retail price 'C' models. In this light, I'm sure a '4005C68' or similar would be a seller. (Doesn't that model number have a nice ring to it?!)
Kidneys can be sold!
