Don't worry Bert, that will wear off... hey what strings are you running? I have D'Addarios EXL220-5 on mine... I liked the girth on the B string (.125).

I'm not sure what strings are on them now. I can see they are d'addario and I feel they have more tension than my usual nickel d'addario's.

That's really funny. When we put out the 4004/5, we widened the neck slightly and everyone complained. We can't win.
The spacing at the bridge on those basses was fine. It was the spacing at the nut that was a bit too wide. The real issue with the 4004Cii5 wasn't the neck width anyway.

Congrats.
I know I love mine. Also JG and an earlier one (1986).
I play fingerstyle and still play this thing.
It takes getting used to but it's definitely a great player once you understand how to thump it.
