I won't be there regretfully, but you'll find them in the Musik & Technik/Musik Meyer stand.

They'll have all models, except for the 360W, unless one miraculously makes it in time. (We didn't have one at NAMM either, only a twelve-stringer.)

The point of the series is to have instruments that are available in a reasonable amount of time. In other words, they need to be "bread and butter" models that are pretty much in constant production.

The 381 simply does not fit those requirements due to the complexity of manufacturing and the relatively limited production at irregular intervals.

I'm really psyched about these! The look is distinctive and also somehow very... Rickenbacker. It took me about 5 minutes to plonk down a deposit for a 360/12 W at one of the top stores. Woo hoo!

I too couldn't resist. Got a deposit in on a 4003W. These are beautiful and I love the maple fretboard.

Ha! I just found out about this bass and came here looking for information, and here this thread is right at the top of the page! You guys are the best!

Does anybody have any idea if these will be available in a left-handed model, or how I would go about finding out and possibly ordering one?

I spoke to Ben when someone else asked this question and he said he could easily make some of these the next time we're building standard 4003's in left handed. In other words, we can do it but it will have to wait until there's a reasonable run. The current production schedule, which is done up to summer, doesn't have any lefty basses on it., so it would be later than that for sure.

What a service from RIC, the CEO himself takes care. Well, left handers, go ahead and place your orders, the more of you will do so the sooner a special run will be on the way.

Might as well make some fretless basses while your at it too. A mapleboard fretless would be cooll

For sure. Unfinished fretless maple boards are pretty uncommon as it is. Plus with the subtle pearlescent dot inlays usually found on a 4003FL, it would look pretty classy methinks. Really love the pearl/white-on-natural aesthetic of these.
