And is that an AWB drum kit?
Yes, the Feb '67 4005WB does have toasters on it.
And, yes, that is AWB's drum set.

Ah, now I can see them. Sorry about the machine heads
So, Jeff, when did you support the AWB? (Is this a well-known story? Sorry, I'm a noob.)
I'm glad mine isn't a WB. One of the reasons I prefer a 4000 over the alternatives is because of the forearm rub.
Anyway, irrespective of personal physical comfort, nice bass. How long have you had it?

Oh, and sorry, a closer look at the photo seems to indicate you've list your knob ... the old RoS problem I guess. OK in it's place but I'm not sure with a 4005.
And that dyslexic guy in your sig really should join the DNA! You know it makes sense.

I bought the bass in 1973, my first Rick! The ROS was in place of the 5th knob when I got the bass, it also already had the .0047µF cap replaced by a piece of wire. I had swapped out the tuning keys twice, it did have the original reverse Klusons when I got the bass. First it got Schaller M4S keys, then decades later they were replaced with Hipshot Ultralite tuning keys. The bass was certainly no closet/glass case queen. In the late '70s the bridge and R tailpiece got replaced by a BA II bridge for a few years. And there was already a hole on the body from when the first owner had put a Gibson bridge/tailpiece cover from an EB3 on the bass over the bridge toaster; that was gone by the time I bought the bass but the hole remained (the same; sorry, couldn't resist

). I sold the 4005WB in August 2011 to someone who had it totally restored, finish and all. It was a great bass, mostly original, wonderful player, sounded like a Rick is supposed to sound...but it was time to pass it on to it's next caretaker.
As to AWB, a jazz rock fusion band I was in opened for them at Lock 3 Live in Akron, Ohio a few years ago. At other times at that venue we had opened for the Family Stone Experience, and for Kevin Eubanks.

Funny, I was getting quite an amount of feedback (and squealing) last night at the jam...but then again, we were playing louder than usual. I DID happen to notice last night that my pickups were a bit microphonic. It really doesn't really bother me, though, unless I'm facing the amp when twiddling the knobs (which, considering how I feel about that amp, is more often than I'd like...)
