I think I'm just going to have to spend the time trying the sets you recomended. The one thing I do like is a heavy E string. I started with a 95 and now it's 105. I'd even like to try a 110 with light D and G strings. I think the recomended max tension for a 4001C64 is 150. Do you think this is feasible?

I guess what I was thinking was to bond the wire wrap and core where they touch...just a couple microns. This way the string would still bend but could not unwrap. I have no idea how this could be done...perhaps electrically. Anyway I'm sure some manufacturer thought of that but it would be an interesting experiment!
