Close. All Platinum store plus a few select stores that we've added in areas that were otherwise under-represented. The Rickenbacker Dealer Locator identifies them.sloop_john_b wrote:Platinum Dealers only.
Yes, indeed. I was at the Edina store just this past October, and they had a number of different models for sale.cjj wrote:Well, not all Guitar Center stores are Rickenbacker dealers. The one in Edina MN is listed as being one though...kernkamp wrote:I just spoke with Guitar Center online (called the 800#) who called three different stores in my area (in the Minnesota area) none of whom knew anything about these and one "Manager" went so far as to say they weren't Rickenbacker dealers anymore so no one in the Twin Cities would be carrying them. Once again Guitar Center not having their act together on something.
Not sure how I could find one to try it out or even what they would cost.

The CW doesn't have x-bracing. (I wish mine did, but it doesn't.) The CW does have the "thin top" and charactered maple. Not sure if the GH has checkered back binding like the CW. But so far that doesn't seem like much of a difference, IMO. Unless the GH has x-bracing? Oh well, I guess we'll find out in time.collin wrote: I think only the CW model and the limited 360V66 models are similar specs to these new models, but there are differences.
Carl Wilson = x-bracing + thin top, figured maple. The necks were kinda chunky on the CW models as well.
I'm guessing this new model has X-bracing and standard thickness top, plain grain.
From a post on Facebook, it also seems that GC in Fairfax has a 1972 330 in Azureglo as well! That perked my interest right away...bosco64 wrote:My local GC in Fairfax, VA has the 1996 when I stopped by on Thursday...very nice!
