Plus there is just generally shady practices.
Like this past month, he bought a (rare) 1970 Mapleglo 330/12 and parted it out... he had most of the parts, tuners, TRC and even body listed as 1966 parts to get a higher price. The only part he held back on listing (until AFTER the body sold) was the original 1970 jack plate, which is on ebay right now.
That's pretty weak and I hope any buyer for that body knows it's not a 60s item (the pickup routes should be the giveaway). Completely immoral that he is conning people this way.

I got it and I know it's a 1970. I was OK with the price as I've been longing for a 21 fret with the slim neck which this one has. It was more about the attributes I wanted versus the year. She'll be put back together and playing again soon.

Congrats! Glad to see it went into good hands and back together again. Looks great.

Thanks all. And she plays and sounds great. I'm still waiting for a jetglo or burgundyglo 480 that's cheap and needs rescued. Yeah, good luck, right?
Now I need to figure out what to do with what's left over of my '91 330/12. Maybe eventually put it back together then have it turned into a lightshow 12?

Look again on eBay right now.. there is a BG 480 that needs some work but looks like a decent project.

Thanks for the heads up Collin. I'll watch that one. It needs a lot of TLC and $$$ to get it respectable again so if it goes too high I'd have to pass on it. That crack in the neck looks very shaky.
