The laredo 4002v57 as it came to be called, was Dane's handiwork,which he customised for another forum member. I gushed quite a bit about it on this forum,and he contacted me when he decided to sell it. It is a wonderful bass,love the retro look,and also really love having the 4002's positions under my fingers again. I actually prefer this bass to the 4002 i used to own.

I can see that. Although Scott Pope's 4002 is absolutely amazing to play, it's the only one I've really sat down with so I'd not be surprised if some weren't as up to snuff as his (plus he really knows how to set a bass up). I do love the modern appointments of the 4004, i.e. the Schaller bridge and lighter weight.
