(Smacking myself upside the head) Yes,"into the Lens" is what i meant to say. I have the Buggles 2nd album where that song title is actually "i am a camera",so that's what i was thinking of when i mentioned it.

They are the same song to me. Whatever Trevor Horne might want to think.

Actually, the first time I heard the Buggles version I was quite impressed. I guess it makes sense since it was their tune. Horne has made some derogatory comments about the Yes version since, essentially calling it "too hard". Poor baby. At least all he had to do was sing.

Definitely read an interview with Chris mentioning Precision Bass. And as a trivia matter, his Jazz was Natural finish, not white, blonde or cream...

Oh yeah,I got a new 76 white/transparent finished one around the same time Chris started playing his,that was ME,not Chris,LOL....ah memories,i think my recollection is about as sketchy as Chris's was......
And i didn't keep that bass very long at all,didn't get on with the super skinny nut end of the neck.

I do like both versions,but definitely prefer the Yes version!

71-73 Fender Jazz Bass maple neck black block markers and binding,natural finish.
Its going through an MXR phase 90 I think.
The bass was first used on The Ancient side 3 of Topographic Oceans and later on Parallels on the Going For The One album.

I have always wondered exactly WHAT bass he used on "To Be Over". The sound ( to me ) is unlike any of his other basses.

Also, I saw him use the Jazz bass in '77 on the Going For The One tour.

I have NEVER seen Chris play that Gibson Triumph-----was not aware that he had one.

Chris played the Jazz Bass when I saw Yes two summers ago. Great to see him do that.

He used it to record Turn of the Century,and played it on the GFTO tour.

He started using his custom extended range Tobias whenever YES played that song in more recent years.

I remember the green Mouradian when I saw them back in May '84, but I don't recall which songs it was used for.

I should have been a bit more specific,he ONLY used it live for TOTC,for those really high notes in the instrumental part.
I think the Triumph probably (?) has a 2-octave fretboard,because some of those notes were well above the 20th fret.

I'm pretty sure he used t-bird on something on the Tormato album, so it stands to reason that he could've used it on that tour...
