So, I guess you'll be looking for a 6 string upright bass now! 8)

Here's a violone, the six string ancestor of the double bass. Playing this instrument attracted admirers, in varying states of undress. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Th gig was fabulous. The party-goers loved the band, the band loved the upright, and we were fed and provided with beverages in a very pleasant venue - what more could one want? :D :D :D

I have learnt, however, that playing two one-hour sets on upright is a little more physically demanding than I had expected.... ouch....

Well, cash is always welcome! It sounds like your gig was lots of fun. You'll get used to the bass. Are those D'Adarrio strings on there?

Nope, left-arm fatigue. I am finding the whole arm-weight technique difficult to perform consistently over an extended period.

My fingertips are like flint given I started playing electric bass in the Cretaceous period!
