I never knew that the 4003s had a push/pull tone switch. You learn something new every day! Thanks for enlightening me, Paul.

I ordered a trussrod set from the Rickenbacker factory.

When it arrived, I removed the nuts from both truss rods, and replaced the E-side truss rod in the bass with the new one. Slowly, over the course of a week, I tightened up both rods, monitoring relief on both sides of the neck.

The neck is straightening out nicely. It's much more playable.

I also trimmed the nut, as its slots were too high.

The LEDs don't seem to have been involved with the truss rod problem. Lucky me!

Love them LEDs on stage!
