As I understand it,the fingerboards in my old RMs and latterly my CS are made from padauk or African vermillion as it is often called.

That's what I thought also regarding the CS, that it was vermillion.
They look different than the V63's.

CSs are definitely Vermillion and are different from the V63s. I've had 2 x CSs and 1 x V63 and have played several other V63s.
