I spoke with Dr. Schaller, he acknowledged how many times he'd been contacted about this saying its not his responsibility but that of the manufacturer.
Noting that and thanking him, I did careful measurements and read Schaller docs. I came to the conclusion that the Medium Strap Locks are the proper fit for the new 4003 Rickenbacker basses. Now mine is Jet Glo Black so I went with the black the tinted Medium strap locks and never had to touch the buttons on my 4003 ever!
Your mileage may vary but give them a try. Most don't even know they come in small, medium and large strap locks! A little reserves far. https://schaller.info/en/slocks/#
