Re: 4030 Short Scale bass
I need another bass like a hole in the head, but these are pretty hot.

So no one here owns one? If you do, could you tell us the measurement from nut to 12th fret please. Trying to see if it is a true short scale, playing comfort-wise.
Re: 4030 Short Scale bass
Would have loved to get my hands on a Ruby Red one.
Willcutt didn’t ship outside the US.
If anyones got one and wants to sell please let me know

My guess is that they're using the same fretboard as on the 4005XC.lumgimfong wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 9:34 am So no one here owns one? If you do, could you tell us the measurement from nut to 12th fret please. Trying to see if it is a true short scale, playing comfort-wise.
Re: 4030 Short Scale bass
I response to a previous question...this bass has a 30.5" scale.

Re: 4030 Short Scale bass
So does it measure 15.25” from nut to 12th fret?
Re: 4030 Short Scale bass
Yes. Hence the 30.5" scale.

That is very cool! I didn’t know these existed.brianeharmonjr wrote: ↑Tue Jan 10, 2023 10:21 pm Happened to be browsing at some online retailers and came across a few of these 4030 Short Scale basses in Midnight Blue with checkerboard binding and black hardware. Anyone have any experience with these? I know there have been a couple of previous VERY limited versions of this floating around. Wilcutt has zero information posted on it and I don't see them elsewhere. Looks like the bridge is shifted forward and it has two pickups mounted in the guard, with a black-painted fingerboard, 24 frets, and some interesting pickups. It's all black hardware and the pickups almost look like toasters with a hi-gain cover? I love short-scale basses, but that is quite a plunge to take with no in-hand experience. Is this a limited model or something that will become more widely available? Any info is appreciated!
