Here are a couple pics! Loving this little setup. Perfect for me!
And the 4003 fretless Ric converted to a single higain pickup seems to have all the sounds and tones I am wanting!

Those photos look great. I'm so glad you're enjoying it. This bass was well traveled, but now even moreso.

Its a sweetheart….now I just have to come up with an appropriate name to cement our long term relationship!
I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to get this bass from you….and one of the best parts, is that I am really a single p/u bass player. I have always struggled with excessive knobs and switches. I was always more comfortable with P’s or other single pickup basses. You conversion seems brilliant to me!
Thats probably why in the old days I was always an Ampeg guy. Loved the Baxandall tone stack simplicity.
I am starting to think that the PJB double 4+, tiny though it is, has an equally intuitive and effective eq setup…….at least for me!
Thanks again!!!

It sounds like someone here should buy my already modded 1973 4000 and convert it?

How about
Flighty, given how far it traveled to get to you?

Hmmmm…a possibility! But flighty has birdbrain connotations…the stereotyped dumb blonde!
I have a very nice luthier built classical guitar made from maple, spruce, and spanish cedar. Its very blonde, so I call her Blanche (blonde in french)
Maybe Frivola, spanish for flighty?

Great suggestion! However Viajero is masculine….no problemo….Viajera - traveler!
So thats it! Shes La Viajera and lives next to Blanche!

Here's a picture of my 1977 4000 FL BG.

IIRC, this bass in in the book.

Great. Just when I though I has my GAS licked!
A fretless burgandyglo 4000 is now top of the list.
Might have to make one I suppose.
