Here's the headstock of a 1975 4001 FG (the real thing) that I sold recently on eBay. Note that the TRC on this one is also broken off at the tip, and that it's the old, flat, silkscreened-on-the-back style.

Hm... I'm sure those tuners were not original to that 1975 4001.
On the pic hereunder the TRC really looks like its now broken-off point would overlap the tuner bushing, but believe me, it's only an illusion. That's a genuine Rick bass, with a genuine, period-correct TRC.

I guess he didn't like reverse tuners.

Sergio, Glad you got the new cd...unfortunately, when we cut the original bottoms, I didn't own my 4001, it's all p-bass, eb2 or the reverend...the 76 4001 might sound good on the next project and I've actually used it on another session with the mute up...it really did record well and sounded very old school with the mute on. Back on topic...my 76 has about 1/8" space between the tr cover and the D string bushing....so, that is an interesting illusion on the above picture, and I do believe you...I've never known you to be wrong yet on such matters...cheers and keep on Rick'n, David

Well, one tries.
Just curious: on the shot of the group, are you the guy sitting on the table?

Serg...nah, I'm the goofy one standing in front of the coca cola machine...I've got a ? about one of my toasters on my 4005...I'll drop you an email.
ps. We had a female singer that was originally in the pic...I photoshopped her out but forgot her feet...the bottom of her dress and feet and part of her shadow are still there!! It's kind of an inside joke with all of us now.

David,
Got the Turnaround Time CD too, thank you very much.
Love the designs. The "lady's feet" thing makes the band picture very interesting haha! Excellent mistake, IMHO!Image

Nice to meet you, David!
A female singer? Where was she in the pic? Behind the guy in white shirt & black tie?
