I think I,m going to have to try a set of the Ric tapes on my 73 FL...Paul,s opinion sounds good to me. I love the rounds on it at present, and have played it a fair bit this week back in the U.K. but the fretboard is so beautiful and in excellent condition and I don,t want to ruin it...

Who has the ric tapes?? i checked with Mike Parks a few weeks back but wasnt carrying them anymore from what i understand hmmmmmm

Can't you still order them direct from RIC?

We haven't had these for years. (Except for the decades old case of these I found in the attic last week that I'm saving for my own fretless!)

I believe the set that I bought from Mike Parks in last March was one of his last few "NOS" sets. Lucky me!Image

So Mr. Hall,
What will be the standard original strings on the new 4003 fretless basses? Won't they be RIC Nylon Tapewounds any more?
