It went for $960, I saw it after the auction closed, hell of a deal.

I would never bid $1677 for a Ric on ebay that had no strings ... no strings quite often indicates a neck problem ... too risky for me ...

How about no tuners? It looks like it has just one tuner.

Looks like the high bidder bailed as well.

I e-mailed the seller and asked why there were no strings on it ... and I said no strings usually means a neck problem ... he hasn't answered yet ...

If you look at the item description, it says that all of the tuners are there. Why there are no strings are another story.

Its the new stringless bass. You never have to worry about changing them, and they never go out of tune!

I've been expecting Peter to remark, "Actually, the item for sale is a Rickenbacker bass, no strings attached..."

I asked him why there are no strings ... this was his answer ...
"To the best of my knowledge, there are no neck problems. The bass is an extremely tight fit in the case and I was advised to remove string tension during long storage. I hope this is helpful."

I didn't know that removing string tension meant removing the strings. When I store one, I tune it down to E flat or sometimes D depending on the strings and bass.

I thought it was dangerous to remove the string tension during storage.

It must not be dangerous when the tuners are removed. Ok, it fits tight in the case, so you remove the strings AND tuners ? That must be some case. See what we can learn from the internet ? Hmm, I wonder if my car will fit in the garage better if I take out the seats first ?

the tuners are still there-its the brain that has been removed
