It's funny. I really didn't care for the bass in any other color. Looks great is DG however.

I thought the title of this thread was "Anyone here IN Laredo"... which I am.
Texas, that is.
Folks around here say that Laredo is the most musical city-name in the world. (LA-RE-DO... get it? Think 'The Sound of Music')

that's a beautiful bass...how does the Laredo sound?

The Laredo has two humbuckers ... each one is wired in series ... this gives it a p-bass growl ... more mids than most Rickenbackers ... these pickups are hot like 13k ohms or similar ... they react to distortion and compression really nicely ... they don't have the single coil bite but they do have nice full complex harmonics ...
I don't like mine plugged straight into a clean amp ... but into a tube amp or a sans amp or a line6 pod this bass has a unique tone and growl ... it is lighter than a 4003 and feels nice hanging from the strap ...
I have to get a 4004CII5 one of these days ...
