It seems that some of the newer p'ups are glued or double-sided taped to the base.
At least those that I've changed to the aluminium base due to breakage.

I mean the magnet is glued/taped to the base.
If going through all that trouble for alignment, why not this?

Yeah, you've just reminded me that the treble pickup magnet of my Sophie WAS glued to the baseplate. I used the word "WAS" because of this:

I assume the holes in your new aluminum baseplates are threaded for the height adjustment screws, right?

Those are for my RICs that have been stripped out, cracked, UPS'd, etc...
