I have owned at least 20 Ric basses in my life and never got one with a non-functioning ric-o-sound. One of my friends has a 66 or 67 360 who's doesn't work however and he bought it new.

Bob - Among those 20 Rics, did you ever own an "S" model with ROS?

Bob ... pretty much every single Ric I have ever owned or worked on that had Ric-o-sound had a damaged, or rusted, or shorted out ric-o-sound ...

I currently own 6 Rics ... none of them came from the factory with ROS ... but if I did own one with ros I would promptly rip it out ... working or not ...

most S models are mono ... some of the old 4001's were mono too ... my favorite Ric bass 4003s5 is always mono ... as is my 4004 and 2030 ...
