Just an update: the seller did listen to reason and changed the wording in the ad. Not all misguded eBay sellers are scam artists!

Ok, at the risk of sounding "Stupid", whats the difference between a 4003 and a V63?
I know this sounds stupid but i've been playing Ricks for over 20 years and i just thought of them as as 4001's or 4003's. I guess i never did any research on them so please excuse my ignorance.

Mike, don't worry you are most likely in the majority of RIC owners, lol. We're the "anal" ones. That being said, I'll let someone else explain the differences..........

The difference between a 4003 and a 4001v63 ...
The 4001v63 is a re-issue ... it's not a real 4001 ... it doesn't have the old truss rod system, or the old capaciter, but it does have the old toaster pickup ...
the 4003 and the 4001v63 share the modern neck ... the 4003 has ric-o-sound, binding, and triangular inlays. the v63 is an "s" model ... mono, no binding, and dot inlays ...
So the main difference is the pickups and a few cosmetic features

and as evidenced by the 'bay, a rabid following of buyers-all with GAS...

It has a modernized version of the horseshoe pickup also.
