My 650D is absolutely stock, apart from D'Addario strings. There's nothing about it I *need* to change. I'd like different machine heads - I have a particularly woolly set of Schallers on mine - and I'd like to set the neck pickup a little lower, but it won't move - but all in all, I've never owned a guitar that is more rewarding to play, and which makes me smile out loud every time I open the case and look at it.

And it's not a FendSonGibrSmith. It's a Rickenbacker. 'Nuff said.

Nope, where is that drill and grinder?

OK not true, I do have a 660/12 and one Carl Wilson 12 that are intouched, everything else has been mod'd in some way. It's very hard not to want to pull out that can of Krylon, but word has it that I will soon have one or two new Rics that are pretty effing funky.

'96 360 MG-6 hi gain untouched
'00 360 CW FG-6 untouched
'92 360 JG-12 with toasters. I did that when i bought this NOS jem because of reading this forum all the time.

They're super guitars as is. As much as there may be the temptation to mod them to be more like the originals, most of the innovations 360's form, move to 24 frets, higains still date from 1964-1970 ... so that pretty vintage as well. One of the most interesting points I've read about ric on the forum was a post by the company's CEO mentioning that the difference in sound from guitar to guitar is mostly from how the neck is attached to the body : glued in, bolt-on or strait-through. If this is true, then most of the mods are tweeks and the basic sound of 300 series, 600 series or 200 series will be defined by the body construction. Given that explination, I am less apt to mod the guitars. I think the biggest impediment to my music is in my hands.

The stock guitars are super products IMHO.

I would like to put a master volume in place of the 5th "blend" knob on my '02 660/12; I bought my '67 4005 in, I dunno, '82 or somewhere thereabouts, it had replaced tuners (replaced back to vintage by me) and a 3 ply strat-like pick guard. I recently bought a '68 pg, and will install that.

220 Midnight Blue - stock
260 Fireglo - stock
...well, one really can't modify the 200 Series guitars.

350 Mapleglo - stock... but not for long; I'm going to "Byrd" it and have a humbucker, a hi-gain, and a toaster.

Combo 800 - awaiting delivery, but I'll definitely keep it stock.

Good lord - you know you've got it bad when even a non-Ric strap counts as a mod (sorry, Noel - kidding!).

Personally, I saw this and couldn't resist it...

Sorry... :-)
