As a follow-up, my tailpiece has since cracked at the places where the finish was chipping and flaking. Might I suggest to all forum members that if this happens during the warranty period, DON'T just assume it is cosmetic! It might be, or it might be a sign that things are not well. True, mine broke some 4 years after I posted about it but I also rarely play my guitar. If I played it more, it might have happened sooner. Rickenbacker sold me a replacement since mine was out of warranty, which is fair I guess. Still, since I reported the problem years ago when it was within warranty, I would have hoped for something better.

Anyways, no hard feelings. It is a great guitar. Just thought I would follow up.

Well, that is done is done. I still love Rickenbackers, and while I wish things had turned out different I suppose $100 for a new tailpiece isn't the end of the world considering everything else that has gone right with the guitar.

One minor problem with that is that the 350V63 uses a trapeze tailpiece, not the "R".
