Gary, did you put the big dots between the 3rd and 5th dot markers or do the new ones come like that now?

Bob, Ha Ha Ha. So I'm not so good with flash pictures! Or this is the rare "Cyclops" model ...
Jim, I don't know what "Lyles" are, sorry ...

On the fretless turquoise side view it looks like there are extra dots between the side fret markers , I used to actually white out the extra dots on mine at first, I was so used to the 3rd 5th etc.

Well, I got my 4003FL from Bass NW today! It definitely will take a lot of getting used to the dot positions. It just doesn't make sense to put them where they are. They should be where the frets actually go. BTW, the side dots are in the 3-5-7etc. positions but in line with the dots on the fingerboard, not offset, wish they were.
It does sound fantastic with a very nice growl; it came with the standard roundwounds, I put Chromes on it and have done a basic setup but more will be needed to get it just right. This baby really is brand new, even has the unfilled out warranty card.
The neck is nice and slim, slimmer than my 4004Cii, not having frets helps somewhat here.
I am repeating this in the thread about this bass so ignore it if you read it here first.
