"(I'm a "Mr." BTW)"
You could have punched me for that, but your subtlety paid off. Excuse me, a rare name for guys, this side of the pond!
So sorry.

The machine heads & TRC are not original on that '75.

Hey, guys, no problem, it's rare here too. As you can imagine, I get the most interesting junk mail..."darn, another Victoria's Secret catalog".

Well, said problem will not affect high-gains made from 1990 onwards.

Hi all! This is my first post, so let me introduce myself: I'm living in Norway, I work as a musician and play lots of different basses (fenders, gibsons). I have one Rickenbacker 4001 from -75, so this thread caught my attention. Also the name Frode sounds very norwegian, right Frode? I'm sure you want pics of my bass. Lets see if I can do this...

Thanks for welcoming to the forum. Frode, I live at Nesodden close to Oslo. I have owned this bass since -92. When I got it (cheap), it was badly refinished in solid red (kinda fender fiesta red) with the paint flaking off, worst in the backside. The pickguard was the wrong (newer) type, and the body was routed to fit the neck pick up in the new place(!!!!) The serial number is OD 2168. It is now refinished in Midnight blue. I know it's not the right colour for -75, but I love that colour especially with white trim. As you can see in this picture it has the wrong tuners and if anyone has a set of right ones (open without rick logo and with slotted screws) I'm very interested!

Looks nice to me. Do you know it´s original color?
Nesodden is close to Ås where I grew up. Also I went to school there years ago. Remember a band called Divin´ Ducks:-)
