I like that 4001 a lot. My compliments to everyone involved in carrying the project through to fruition.

Funny how two different basses have been recently refinished in seagreen. This colour is catching on!! We all missed the boat back in 2000 it seems. I don,t know if it,s just the photo,s but Marc,s seagreen looks a little lighter than the U.K. job, which looks closer (to my eyes)to the official RIC colour. Personally, I like the slightly lighter tone and with the dot inlay ebony neck and binding is one beautiful bass...

The pics are terrible. When it's complete, I'll take my time and shoot some good ones.

My Blue Boy Cheyenne is due soon as well...

I would agree with Ted, not as cool as the Seligman!

Everything is basically done. My guy is carving a nice bone nut for me. I could have had him rush it today, but I'll just pick it up Tuesday and post new pics then.

I still need the strap buttons(if anyone has BT buttons hint, hint) and knobs but, good things come to those who wait. The bass will certainly be playable until then.

Here's some photos of it set up. Plays great. The strings are Thomastick-Infield and are real slinky and fun to play.

Looks great Marc! Did Pickguardian also make the truss rod cover? Is it plastic or anodized aluminum?

Very, very cool, Marc!

I wonder how it would look with all gold hardware ...

No, the TRC is genuine Rickenbacker. It was in my collection. Marc made me an offer I could not refuse.

It looks great, especially when I lighten the photo and really see what it looks like! I agree, gold hardware would look killer on it.

I had thought about gold hardware. When I was collecting the pieces I didn't really understand powdercoating. If I get that 4000, my plan is to gold powdercoat all the hardware. That bridge will have to go however.

More fun than I thought. The luthier who set it up didn't want me to leave with it because he loved the sound of the horseshoe.

Warm and punchy is the best I can describe it.
