Historic prices

I know I paid under $300 for a new 4000 in 69. I also had a hard time selling a pristine V63 in mapleglo a couple of years ago. I had it priced at $1050. It sold for $950 after about 8 months. It sold off of the free classifieds at Mike Park's web site, another good spot for everyone to watch. You just never know where the market is going to go. If RIC reintroduced the V63 and priced it even a couple hundred higher than when it was discontinued the used prices would probably drop. These things have almost doubled in the last 2 or 3 years.

Jim I am not sure about what model He used I know Rick Wakeman used a B-3 but this is the same thing with the added internal speaker system that the B-3's didn't have. When you add the Leslie to this organ you get that super Hammond room filling sound! and more! The B-3's and even the big church C-3's only used leslies but with this model you get it all! It is about 400lbs now but after were done with it it will be gigable. There just ain't nothing like this sound and considering this band project is turning out to be a YES/Floyd Gig, were all willing to travel around with this monster.
No doubt I got the best deal you can get for one "Free" but I sure wish I could find a nice Ric Bass or guitar real cheap? I have paid full dollar value for all the guitars I have bought now in the last year $11,000 worth, and counting! I'm so freeking broke now! I am saving up to buy another strap and some locks and strings!

On the other hand; I like to see the high prices! It means my guitars are not loosing their value! Now be honest we all have that in mind right?

Randy, I recall seeing ELP and Emerson had two Hammonds on stage, one was for sure a B3 that he used to toss around a lot, and the other was a monster. In addition to this he had about 10 Leslies on stage for his sound, tremendous range and levels.

I was fortunate to get to play with with a great Hammond player all through High School and College, so I have vivid memories of dragging a Hammond around. Of course in return I was given help with assorted 4x12's and even 4x15's at one point.

Steve, with regard to your Time Machine, I'd go back and keep the Vox AC30, the Hofner Violin Bass, the Orange, Marshall and Sound City valve amps, and the Acoustic 4x15 Bass Reflex Cabinet !!! I'd also go back to Vegas and tell The Ox to lay off the drugs that night !!!

Yeah were psyched. Keyboard dude's got a Korg triton, an old M-1 and now this monster! I think were covered. Now he has to grow another arm with two hands and 8 fingers on each!

I figure with some good microphone placement we will get this Hammond sounding pretty good.

As for moving it; I ain't 17 anymore either this one gets seperated from it's woodwork this time around! I was young and dumb and full of c*m beack when I used to load a B-3 and the leslies into an old Dodge Van that was painted with the Pink Floyd dark side of the moon album or keyboard player owned then. Everything was heavy it seemed. I had a great old Peavey double 12" amp that had to weigh 150lbs! The Bass player had a stack of peaveys too and our lead man of course had a Marshall Stack. The PA was home built using Fane speakers and particleboard cabs wrapped in felt! I was 6' 4" and 210lbs now day's I am about 6' 3" and 275. Still got a strong back and weak mind but I know everything is going to have wheels and cases and a roadie or two this time.

Getting back into music is a blast again and the sound proof practice room is right here, close to home this time, out in the barn. Keyboard player has not mentioned ELP yet but I'll bet it will come up soon!

Now there's a mental polaroid ... Home made Fane's !! I built a 2x18, must have wieghed 200lbs did have castors though.

For a home made PA that system Rocked! We had two 2000w crowns and another powering the horns. Back then for us this was enough to shake the small clubs that we were haunting to death! System still worked great when we sold it. Bet some of those speakers are in some guy's Bass Cab now? Perhaps someone on this list? I don't think those speakers can ever go bad? They are rated to survive a direct hit form a Nuke!
Well Back to work gotta get stuff done around here for the upcoming brutal season.

I think an Ampeg SVT and two 8x10 cabs cost more than a corvette in 1969...
