Actually, now that I look at it, the headstock isn't so bad. I'd probably get one just to have something unique if I could find one cheap.

i dont think its the headstock so much as the goofy rick trc that curves up at the wrong end,not like pauls at all[im talking about the lettering not the shape of the trc] that gives the whole headstock acheap look.

I've got a C64 FG. Finish is excellent, sound is v. good all-rounder, Headsdtock: well, you can live with it, but it is a gimmick. I'd say it's not quite as rorty as a V63 but it is probably a better bass for general use. I've used it a lot for gigging and it's perfect. I think that in a few years - when they've been discontinued - they may well become "rare and elusive, highly sought after" at Mr Parks' place. But right now I'm having a 4003 moment. Next week I feel a CS day coming on...

I still tend to think that at sometime it will be available in conventional headstock form. It could be then seen as a progression from the V63 and there still seems to be demand for them.
Offered in all colours, it would be a good alternative to the 4003 and in all probability a strong seller.

I would love to have either a C64 or C64S. But right now my wallet can't afford it. Maybe some time next year I might be able to pull the trigger and get one. A C64 FG would be great addition to my V63 and 4003.

I don't know if we want to go bragging about Rics getting chicks - look what John got! (Sales of 330s plummet) Image

Yeah, but Paul was always the "Cute Beatle".

There's a 4001c64S on Ebay that I was high bidder on until today. I think it may be getting a little too high for me.

I don't like the rounded horns, or the square heel, or the high price ... go to musicians friend or ams or music123 and you can get a brand new 4003 for several hundred dollars less ...

I already have a 4003. I wanted something with the toaster and horseshoe pickup combination.

"She's not much to look at, but man can she sing!" ;)

I never trust those hidden bidder auctions, too easy to be running shills on them.

I can't say I like the headstock on these. If I were to shell out large coin for another Ric, it would be a 4002, but since I have neither coin nor a source of a 4002, I can enjoy what I have for the time being.

The backwards head stock on the C64S is fair enough- its a "replica" of Macca's bass.....just for right handed players. But the regular C64 should have a normal headstock, i mean- you cant have a vintage reissue of something that never existed. One model with the quirky headstock is ok but two??

Sort of what Fender did on its Hendrix Strat, right?

Fender did a complete mirror-image, including the headstock logo.
