I had mine refinished many, many years ago, but the guy nailed it, so when I do get around to photos (I'm almost motivated to get to it this week now!), it'll look pretty new, but the colour is the same as when I got it. I can be reasonably confident that it wasn't refinned before I owned it by the amount and placement of the player wear it had (not to mention that it was yer basic Rick bass that, at the time, was only about 7 years old - I don't think the guy would've sunk money into it that quickly).

I did a quick Google on the Ruby Red - not a whole lot came up, but yeah, the '80-'84 reference did, as well as one picture. That one is a much brighter red than mine.

edit - another google put me to MP's site, and look what I found! This seems to be pretty much it (besides the obvious multiplicity of necks ;p), and it has the white binding/black trim as well. I don't think I've ever seen another one, at least not in person.
