A 4002 in Azureglo? That's a first. You got me curious.

J.C., if it is really a 4002 for $700, you are a lucky guy!

...if it is a refinished 4002, why would anyone want to cover that beautiful wood RIC made them with?

OK guys, the serial number is NC ####. That means its a '74 right? Did Ric make the 4002 model in '74?

There was apparently one white 4002 made (why??) but I have not heard of an azureglo. Anything is possible with Rickenbacker I suppose. I can tell you first hand that if the bass is intact, you will not be disappointed with your purchase. The 2 has an amazingly smooth sound. It can go from deep and round to bright and growly. It easily has the broadest bass tone range in all of Rickdom.

False Alarm, False Alarm. After finally getting his tele number I called him and found out it is a 4001. ARHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Dang! I feel like a detective interviewing this guy. I had to drag the info out of him. He is still trying to get me some pics though, it may still be worth it for a '74.

The kicker was that I remembered that the 4002 have a XLR output. I asked him about that and he said it only had the two ric o sound ones.

Funny thing is, I sent him a pic of a real 4002 and said "Does your bass look like this one minus the color difference?", and he said "Yeah, it looks just like mine." I guess he failed to see the big chrome surround on his. Go figure.

Man I'm disapointed! Of course I should have known that was too good to be true.

If it is an original finish Azureglo 4001 from 74 and in nice shape, it's still a pretty good deal.

Absolutely. Here's two such beauties to keep your mind on the subject, so to speak.

It sure is... and I'm on the lookout for one. If it is a 74 Azureglo, can you help me buy it from him (assuming you're not buying it yourself)?
