I was just curious, maybe it's just Jeff's picture, but has the dot marker material used in the fretless fingerboards changed over the years? The dot markers in my '75 look deep, pearly gold and usually reflect many different colors. The ones in Jeff's look white.

Joey, my 73 has the pearly white dots.
Is yours from yellowing of the fretboard lacquer, or is it just a different material? Looks cool imo..
Jeff, that M/G FL was a steal at that price...

The dots on my 4003FL are plain white markers. I actually would have prefered no markers at all.

I guess the material has varied over the years. I do agree with you Jps, that I would prefer side markers only.
Andrew, it is possible that that fingerboard laquer may have yellowed a bit influencing the color, but I've never seen different colors reflect out of inlays like these do. I couldn't get them to show in the picture.

My 72 has pearly white markers also, but I'll check them when I get home Saturday.
I don't mind the dots on the fretboard as I never look at them but I don't like the dots on the side.
Joey I have never seen a fretless with markers like that.
