Goncalvo Alves, figured koa, or a book matched burl maple top would look nice also.

If you used Burl, you could the bass Milton.

I still think the 4001 would make a good painted bass. I asked for the serial number and it is on the listing now...

I'd have some clever guitar guy make new body halfs for it ... sort of a 4001Cheyenne thing . Forget the body binding ... but do the guard and the rest of the typical hardware .
Then respray it in white or maybe clear .... or if the wood is nice , fireglo .

an interesting note ... in High School , one of my best friends (and we are still the best of friends ) was a Cherokee Indian guy named David Beaver .... Believe me , we heard about it .

I liked Eddie Haskel ... he was such a weasel ... and then there was lumpy ... and then Mrs Cleaver would say ... "Gee Ward ... you were kinda hard on the Beaver last night."

they just don't do tv like that any more ... all we get is reality **** shows now days ...
