The problem with Rotos is a very rough finish combined with the hardness of stainless. But it's mostly the rough surface. After all, you won't get fret wear from stainless flats.

Are both DR low riders and high beems flats, halfwounds, or rounds? I've never tried them.

Rounds. I like them too but lately I like the TI Jazz Rounds JR344 better.

I think $1700 is a bit high for this V63. For not much more you could get a C64.
