I agree with Gary Smith's post about Lennon using the Casino. It's the exact same finger-picking pattern as "Julia", and it's been documented elsewhere that Lennon learned this pattern from Donovan when they were all in India. In Rob Taylor's "To-A-Tee" video, he uses a Casino for all the electric parts, and we know all three of them had Casinos at that point. The fuzzed lead parts (and there are about 3 of them) sound fuller to me, more like the Casino through an overdriven amp and not as thin as a Strat. JMO, but the previous poster is probably right -- we'll never really know.

Jerry you're right it's the same pattern as Julia... and Sun King, and Octopuss' Garden...
I'm trying to think if there was another one...
I just love that pattern.

i wrote sooommme of
www.beatlesgear.tk (see acknowledgments section) but not all of it. Anything that said the tele was used prior to 69' would be absurd and i wouldnt have written it

I dunno...the Lennon guitar parts seem awfully twangy for a Casino...

Yeah, that's a great site!
I noticed something odd, though.
In the Instruments (Gear Pictures) section, what's not quite right about the picture of the '64 325 in the left frame?

The picking pattern is the same, a modified Travis picking pattern. "Look At Me" on Plastic Ono Band is yet another example of this pattern. Hard to learn initially, but versatile and fun as hell to use once you do. Playing "Julia" or "Prudence" really turns heads. Use a capo up 2 frets for Julia. People eat it up.

True, David!
That would make it a picture of a 320... if it weren't for one other tiny detail...

Bloody hell, that would make that a faux fab photo. Quite the shame of it all.
