Rickenbacker website suggestions?

But why shouldn't the Rickenbacker web site be THE site for Rickenbacker information? All kinds of arcana available in the web site 'library' would be invaluable to Ric fans everywhere.

My 330 sounds very different through a Fender as oppsed to a Vox, so that could create a problem when they're producing soundclips. Maybe the 330 could be demonstrated through an 'American' amp and the 360 through a 'Class A British' amp...

I agree with what John said about the web site. It doesn't really reflect the 'style' of their products. Even the old catalogs they have online are more stylish and descriptive, but you have to look to find them!

Rick-o-smell would *definitely* help sell 'em! My girlfriend says that my 330 smells like vanilla cupcakes.

My reasoning for limiting the amount of historical information is that the cost of developing and deploying it doesn't do much for new Ric sales.

As for sound clips, their purpose would be for educating those unfamiliar with the Ric sound, and I agree that the subtle differences between some models wouldn't be that audible, but at least potential buyers would have a ballpark of what to expect. Side by side comparisons of toasters to high gains to humbuckers through the same amp and settings would give an idea of the differences in sound. All sound clips should require the user to initiate them.

It would also be useful to have some larger images of the details of the guitars to show off the craftmanship.

I would also avoid relying on plugin technology or getting carried away with animations. Stick to the basics and get the point across.
