Very Sweet Greg!!! Hey you most likely have the first sold BlueBurst! As if you haven’t figured that out on your own!
I just sold a 97 JG 4003 and the neck was unbelievably sweet – that was a good year for 4003’s
I love that BBR look!
Congrats and enjoy!

Great looking BBR Greg, congrats!
Your pictures have changed my opinion about this finish.
I must have one now

Congratulations, Greg!
Ain't it sweet to own (probably) the very first 4003 BBR ever made which also was debuted at the NAMM Show?
And kudos to your photos which are way better than all those taken at NAMM! The headstock appears to be lighter shade of blue in your photos. Is it the reality or just the lighting situation when the photos were taken?

That's a great-looking bass! Don't let my wife see it because blue is her favorite color and she'll make me sell my fireglo 4003 to buy a blueburst.

Now if I can find a quilted 4004Cii MG...

Paul--the lighter shade on the headstock is a reality. You know the way that Fireglo is done, with the bare patch, front and back of headstock, and also the strip of somewhat clear down the neck? It's the same treatment with this finish.

I also just noticed how it tends to give the inlays a bluish hue as well.
Or is that just a trick of the light?
So purty...

Jared, isn't Andy O'connor is the only natural Cii owner on the forum? His is a beauty!
Don't beat old tranny red, though.

Amazing, I love it and want one. Ron, I only wish My Wife would say sell the fireglo and get a blue burst. I agree with Greg about the neck. The neck on my 2004MG is quite noticeably fatter than my 2000FG. In my opinion the fatter neck isn't an improvement because it isn't as comfortable.

My Cii is due to have a toaster fitted at the neck - a gold toaster.
